Milngavie Golf Club is a scenic moorland course with most holes affording superb views over the surrounding countryside and beyond. Although apparently short in yardage, the course plays its full distance and accuracy from the tee is at a premium.
No two holes are the same at Milngavie with the four par 3s in particular presenting a very different challenge from each tee. When found, golfers will enjoy the course's superb putting surfaces with many of the greens having subtle breaks and borrows.
The course measures 5,818 yards over 18 holes and has a par of 68 (SSS 68) for men and a par of 72 (SSS 71) for ladies.
Signature hole; first 'Allander' (359 yards, par-4) - One of the most challenging opening tee shots to be found in Scotland. From an elevated tee, golfers will to drive over a burn and whins to a plateau fairway defined to the left by trees and to the right by a gully and the river Allander. From the saftey of the fairway, golfers will follow the dogleg to the left and play to a plateau green protected by bunkers on both sides. A four on the card is a job well done!
