From Alan Foggo: The Donald Cameron Team won against Bearsden 7.5 - 0.5 on Wednesday evening (25th June 2008) which has guaranteed Milngavie promotion back to Division 1 next seaon!
A halved match against Bishopbriggs on Wednesday this week will almost certainly now be good enough to win the League. (There is still a little doubt because the DC website has not been updated fully).
The last time Milngavie won League 1 was 1995 and prior to that it was League 2 in 1986 so these opportunities don't come round that often.
On behalf of the players, thanks go to Jimmy Crawford and Robin O'Neill for their support in their official capacity.
The team on Wednesday night was:-
Richard Green
Simon Kyle
Russell Blair
Alan Foggo
Ian Jeen
Alan Pirie
Graham Cross
Colin Henderson
Richard managed an impressive halved match in his first outing as Club Champion at number 1 for the team against the very experienced Paul Semple of Bearsden. Well done Richard and of course to all the other guys in the team who managed victories in their respective matches.

Alan Foggo writes: The Donald Cameron team mangaed a fine away win at Hilton Park last Wednesday evening, 11th June 2008. After a slow start in the League this year (we lost our first game 7 - 1 away at Kirkintilloch), we have now put together 3 victories in a row including the fine 6 - 2 victory at Hilton. And then this week Hilton did us a favour by winning at Bearsden last night.
We have two fixtures remaining this season. The first is at home against Bearsden on Wednesday 25th and the final match is away against Bishopbriggs on Wednesday 2nd July. It would be good for team morale to see some supporters at either of these two matches. We now have a very real chance of firstly clinching promotion back up to Division 1 and secondly, (assuming the result against Bearsden goes in our favour), winning this years league if we can take something against Bishopbriggs in the final match.
